How international courier pricing works from Hyderabad

Most courier quotes fall apart at the counter, because the number you were shown was a base rate with the fuel surcharge, packing and pickup still to come. We quote the other way round. The figure the calculator gives you is the inclusive SLP rate for your parcel to that destination: pickup, packing and our handling are already inside it, and there are no hidden SLP surcharges added later.

Two things sit outside that rate, and we would rather say so plainly than surprise you: duties and taxes charged by the destination country, and exceptional handling if a parcel needs something unusual. Both are confirmed with you before booking, never after delivery.

Chargeable weight: why a light box can cost more

Airlines charge for the space a parcel occupies as well as what it weighs. Every carrier therefore bills on chargeable weight, which is whichever is greater: the actual weight on the scale, or the volumetric weight worked out from the box dimensions.

A duvet, a pillow or an empty suitcase weighs almost nothing but fills a large box, so it is priced on volume. A box of documents or spare parts is dense and prices on actual weight. How the weight bands work

Rates are structured in bands, and the band changes the way the price is calculated:

• 0.5 kg to 10 kg — priced per shipment. Each half-kilo step has its own rate, so a 3 kg parcel has a single all-in price rather than a per-kilo multiplication.
• 11 kg and above — priced per kilo. Bulk shipments move to a per-kilo rate, which is why the effective cost per kilo drops sharply once you cross into this band.
• 21 kg and above — a further per-kilo band. This is the rate quoted on most of our country pages, because it is the one that matters for students, families relocating and business shipments.

If your parcel sits just under a band edge, it is often cheaper to add a little and cross into the next one. Ask us and we will tell you when that is the case, even though it means a lower value shipment for us.

What is included in the rate

What changes your price

Four things move the number, and nothing else does:

• Destination. Every carrier groups countries into zones, and the zones differ between carriers. This is why the cheapest carrier for the UK is often not the cheapest for the USA.
• Chargeable weight. Actual or volumetric, whichever is greater, as above.
• Service level. Express reaches most destinations in a few working days; economy services take longer and cost noticeably less. Both are shown side by side so you can choose.
• What is inside. Food, medicines and liquids carry country-specific rules that can change which carrier can take the parcel at all. We check eligibility before booking, not after.

Rates are reviewed regularly as carrier tariffs and fuel surcharges change, so the figure you are quoted is the one that applies to your booking, confirmed before we collect.

Common questions about our pricing

Is the quoted rate the final amount I pay? Yes, for our side of it. The SLP rate is inclusive and no SLP surcharge is added afterwards. Duty or tax charged by the destination country is separate, and we tell you when it is likely to apply.

Why is my small parcel quoted at a higher weight? Because of volumetric weight. A large, light box is charged on the space it takes up on the aircraft. Repacking into a smaller box often reduces the price, and we will do that at pickup where it is possible.

Do you charge for packing or pickup? No. Doorstep pickup across Hyderabad and 3-layer packing are included in the rate.
